 Chloride Zimbabwe targets battery exports
Published: 16 December 2018
Zimbabwe's battery manufacturer, Chloride Zimbabwe is targeting enhanced exports next year following a strong performance that has raked in $6 million.

The battery firm's $5 million investment in a new plastic plant and machinery has reduced imports and cut costs by $40 000 monthly.

Chloride Zimbabwe General Manager, Kudzai Pasipanodya said the company now seeks to buttress this growth trajectory through exports into markets such as Zambia, Mozambique and Botswana.

The 2019 national budget focuses on industrial production and exports to boost the country's foreign currency reserves which currently are under pressure as most businesses seek allocations to fund production.
