MetBank names Marandure new chairperson

METBANK has announced the appointment of a new chairperson who takes over from Wilson Manase whose tenure has expired.

In a statement, the bank said Darlick Marandure took over from Manase in June 2018.

"Metbank would like to announce the appointment of …Marandure, as the new chairperson of the bank with effect from June 2018," company secretary Kiitu Zawanda said in a statement.

"The board and management of Metbank Limited bids farewell to …Manase who served as chairperson of the Board till the end of his term in September 2018. The Board would like to thank Manase for his dedication and great service to the Bank during his tenure and wish him the very best in his future endeavours."

According to the bank, Marandure spent 18 years in the USA working for fortune 500 firms, IBM,-PFizer, Schering Plough and Mars incorporated.

The bank said prior his USA career, Marandure had worked in Zimbabwe in the banking sector, spending a couple of years with Zimbank.

Marandure holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Economics from the UZ, a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Howard University in the USA as well as a MSc in Information Systems Management from Keller Graduate School of Management in the US where he graduated with a distinction.

"He also holds certificates in Project Management. We wish Marandure all the best in his term at Metbank," Zawanda said.

Metbank, formerly known as Metropolitan Bank of Zimbabwe, is a commercial bank in Zimbabwe, and is licensed by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, the central bank and national banking regulator.
