The Ministry of Industry and Commerce will host a clothing manufactures indaba in Bulawayo meant to find a way forward in resuscitating the sector.

During his familiarisation tour of clothing manufacturing firms in Bulawayo, Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce Honourable Raj Modi said players in the industry will converge in the second largest city next week to table proposals on how they can re-awaken the clothing sector.

"We want to see how we can bring every stakeholder together and map the way forward for the clothing industry. Many clothing companies need foreign currency just like any other industry and we need to map a way forward as to how we can do that," said Deputy Minister Modi.

Deputy Minister Modi highlighted that his ministry has been contacted by a number of manufacturers seeking assistance with foreign currency, but revealed government cannot give every manufacturer money so this indaba will map a way forward for self-sustainability.
