Imara, Mondise Capital launch joint venture

Johannesburg-based investment holding company, Mondise Capital and the pan-African Imara financial services group today (Tuesday, September 10) announced the formation of a joint venture, Imara Mondise Capital,that will offer corporate advisory services to both state-owned corporations and private sector companies.

The new business will provide investment banking advisory services within South Africa, Lesotho, Namibia and Swaziland, with strong focus on clients looking to expand into the rest of Africa.

Mondise Capital's founder, Xola Sithole has been appointed chief executive officer of the new JV. Xola brings with him extensive experience in development finance and a deep understanding of state owned companies. He will collaborate closely with Imara's head of corporate finance, Rod MacLeod in rolling out this initiative.

Sithole commented: "Imara Mondise Capital is an independent investment banking advisory boutique that combines the corporate finance capabilities of Mondise Capital and the Imara Group.

"We offer the full suite of corporate advisory services. Imara's extensive on-the-ground presence across sub-Saharan Africa means we are well positioned to assist those state-owned corporations and private sector companies from the Rand Monetary Union that are planning to expand into Africa or are eager to identify possible cross-border partners."
